ACK FUNDAY 2024 Raises $200k for Montreal Children’s Foundation

Bucksters go to the races and celebrate another unforgettable day (and night!) of fun and generosity, with all funds raised going directly to children and their families who need it the most.

Read on for highlights of the day from ACK President…

“It was another beautiful day on the course after a worrying forecast. The skies opened up on Friday night, and thunder woke at least one Director up. Somehow the course was in amazing shape the next morning and golf went off without a hitch. Much fun was had by all on the course, with a fantastic atmosphere created by the team of volunteers, who also kept the delicious food and drinks coming.

The cocktails were a lively affair, with old friends and new faces alike catching up and no doubt discussing the best round of golf they’ve played all year. Then a special moment as the banquet started, reminiscent of FUNDAYS past - everyone got up onto their chairs and started waiving around their white napkins. What a sight! Thank you to Leslie for bringing back this much-loved ACK tradition. The inaugural duck races were a massive hit, with more than a couple of people yelling words of encouragement at their on-screen ducks.

And of course, a wonderful evening of dancing and celebration followed. As I was leaving, someone asked me where one of their friends was, I said « still inside dancing, they’ll get the next shuttle ». I looked over at the driver who smiled at me and I asked them «this is the last shuttle isn’t it?! ». Sure enough it was, I ran inside to gather everyone else up. It was great to see that they were still going into the early hours!

A massive, heartfelt thank you to all Bucksters, guests, donors, sponsors, vendors and volunteers for making this another unforgettable FUNDAY. Old and new faces came together to truly make a difference and, my goodness, did we have fun while doing it!

Looking forward to seeing you all again next year”.
